In the process of drawing, the drawing stress σ 1 acts on the drawing force per unit cross-sectional area of the wire to be drawn at the die opening. In order to make the metal plastic deformation in the die hole, the drawing stress σ 1 must be greater than the deformation resistance σ t of the metal in the deformation zone of the die hole; In order to prevent the metal wire from deforming and breaking after drawing out of the die hole, the drawing stress σ 1 must be less than the yield limit σ s of the drawn wire after drawing out of the die hole. Therefore, the conditions for realizing the drawing process are usually expressed as: σ T < σ 1 < σ s. The ratio K is called the safety factor of drawing process.
The metal wire subjected to cold drawing has obvious deformation hardening, and its yield limit σ s is close to its strength limit σ B. in production, the value of σ B is often used to replace σ S. therefore, the conditions for drawing process can also be expressed as σ T < σ 1 < σ s; the safety factor K of drawing process can also be expressed by the ratio of σ B to σ 1.
The safety factor K value of drawing process is generally between 1.40 and 2.0. K < 1.40 indicates that the drawing stress σ 1 is too large, and the wire may continue to deform after the die hole is drawn, and the drawing process is unstable; if k > 2.0, the drawing stress σ 1 is small, the drawing deformation is too small, and the drawing passes are increased.
heat treatment
Annealing is carried out in the temperature range of 1850-2050 degrees, followed by rapid annealing and rapid cooling. 316 stainless steel shall not be heat treated for hardening.
welding
316 stainless steel has good weldability. All standard welding methods can be used for welding. 316cb, 316L or 309cb stainless steel filler rods or electrodes can be used for welding according to the application. In order to obtain the best corrosion resistance, the welding section of 316 stainless steel needs post weld annealing treatment. If 316L stainless steel is used, post weld annealing is not required.
